Mastercard blocking online gambling transactions? Will Visa follow?

February 6, 2010 No Comments

A few casino affiliate managers have informed me that Mastercard transactions will be disabled indefinitely. This seems to be an industry wide issue and doesn’t pertain to one specific gaming software or gaming group. Since the news surfaced last week many players are getting emails encouraging the use of alternative payment processing methods. Getting information about payment processing in the online gambling community seems next to impossible. Affiliate forums shed some light on the issue but only operators truly know the full story but most likely cannot disclose any confidential information.

These payment processing issues are another bump in the road for the online gaming industry but it certainly won’t stop the business from growing. Perhaps Visa will follow suit.
