The future of mobile marketing starts now

BBC recently published an article claiming that the mobile marketing industry is about to take off specifically in the applications area. For online gaming people thought many years ago that by 2010 it would be the dominant side of gaming but it is hardly on the radar. The BBC is an interesting read to demonstrate how mobile marketing is changing and that in the near future this industry will be too huge to ignore. You can find the article here:

I recently attended the Barcelona Summit conference in the adult industry and the 2 topics that were presented and on everyone’s mind were SEO and mobile marketing. The consensus was that by 2012 mobile phones will be used on a scale never seen before. That mobile content will be impossible to ignore and how people will use their phones more.

The Mobile World Congress happened earlier this year and sure enough many of these adult and gaming companies had representatives there making sure they are on top of mobile marketing. I think many have given up on mobile gaming and marketing thinking it was a fad. I think there are many reasons why it has taken longer for the mobile industry to mature and one of those reasons are high data plan prices charged by mobile carriers. I think in the near 2 years you will see lower flat rate prices with higher bandwidth rates and unlimited data. Another reason is the lack of standardization for operating systems and browsers. It is difficult to design an application or website with so many different types of phone browsers and different screen sizes.

Stay tuned for another article aimed just for affiliates so you can capitalize on the mobile traffic that you are getting on your websites. If your site is not optimized for mobile browsing or at least isn’t sending them to sites that have custom mobile applications then you are losing out.
